Step 1

Search for a good schedule

You have to have a good schedule if you want to practice your guitar accurately. In reality a lot of newcomers stop learning because they don’t possess the proper schedule for learning guitar. They tend to move on before they mastered the previous lesson completely or they over do it and practice way too long. To the point that it becomes so annoying that they give up. A while ago when I first tried to learn how to play guitar I did not last a week. What went wrong? I didn’t have the right schedule. I didn’t know how long I needed to practice and when I should have move on to the next lesson. But this time however I found a good schedule that tells me exactly how long and when I need to practice, and which lessons. The difference is huge! I’m already in my fourth week of practicing and just keep getting better and better.

Now you know that you need to have a schedule for learning your guitar. The problem now, is where and how do you find the schedule? It is not that easy. Most books and online guitar sites will offer you your first lessons and teach you how to play your first chords. What they don’t show you is how long you must practice each lesson, and when is it good to move on to the next. I was lucky enough to finally get hold of a schedule on how to learn guitar on one of the sites. You can find it at the end of this article. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a schedule anywhere else. This is where it pays off to have a personal instructor. Not only can he or she explain to you how to accurately play guitar, but they also set your schedule as to how long it’s expected of you to know this stuff.

Step 2

Make sure your guitar is always in tune. Or else you won’t be able to learn properly. Certain guitars need to be tuned more often than others. Mostly that occurs if your guitar has been through some damage, like severe temperature and humidity shifts. All of these can ruin your guitar to where you have to tune it more often. The way to tell if your guitar is out of tune is if all of the sudden it seems that you are not able to play chords like you used to. Many times newcomers think that they are really bad at playing guitar when in reality their guitar is just out of tune. It’s a good idea to invest into a digital tuner. They are inexpensive and you can get it at any guitar store, I’ve seen it at Target, so you can find one there as well.

Step 3

Don’t over do it. It makes sense to reason that if you practice longer then suggested that you would get better faster and be able to play guitar straight away. Unluckily that’s not how it really works when it comes to learning how to play guitar. Probably the most you should practice the 1st three weeks is no longer than fifteen minutes per day. Anymore than that and you would be setting yourself back.

There is an easy way to learn How To Play Guitar. I get all of my lessons from Guitarzonline. They have a lot of helpful information like Tuning A Guitar, How Long Does It Take To Learn Guitar and even offer free lessons for beginners. If you're interested in learning guitar you should check their site out. You will be glad you did.
