Planning a wedding can be a daunting task with lots of decisions. Don't be overwhelmed by this massive task. Knowing what you need to do is the first step of the planning process. This article will give you some helpful advice on what to do and some good ways to do it.
Two months before your wedding, which is the equivalent of eight weeks, you need to make sure that the application for your marriage license is underway, the wedding rings have been ordered, you have selected and ordered a wedding cake, accessories for the bride and bridesmaids are taken care of, and that your invitations have been mailed. Keep a list of your RSVP cards coming back to you to make the final count tally much simpler.
Make sure you get a list of references from every single vendor you secure. If they're not willing to give you one, move on to someone else. You should get a long and varied list of people who speak highly of the person or company you've chosen so that you can feel secure in your choice.
If you want to save money, do not choose a wedding date that falls in the months of May through October. Look to the off-season instead; vendors will have more flexibility with the dates they are available, and they typically charge less money for the same service. You will also save yourself some stress as you try to line up the services that you need.
Remember that the reception is the time for you to let loose, but do not act too wild as your in-laws will be at the wedding. Make sure that you dance and have the time of your life with your friends as you will cherish these moments for the rest of your life.
When trying to pare down the guest list, consider who is paying for the wedding, and then allocate them more seats. If the bride's father is footing the bill, then her side of the family should be permitted to attend. If the couple is paying for the wedding themselves, then they should split the number of attendees in half for each side.
As was mentioned at the beginning of this article, planning a wedding or prom dresses can be daunting. However, with the right information and ideas, it can become an enjoyable thing to do. Take what you have learned from this article and put it into action as you begin to plan this special day.
