When I'm talking with someone and they share with me that they are ready to start living and ready to get out of debt I know I can help them. The comment I hate hearing the most is "I'm too busy". So do you want to start living and get out of debt or are you too busy for that? Then they go on to share with me what's going on in their life and I see so many open time for building that high income online business I have just shared with them. The business that will help them get out of debt so they can start living the life they want to live.

Isn't it amazing how much we can fit into our busy schedules when it's something we WANT to do? But when it's something we desire we seem to feel unworthy and then we find so many excuses for why we can't do it.

Excuses like:

  • I have a lot of kids

  • I homeschool

  • I'm working on my degree

  • I volunteer too many hours in the community

  • I have too many things going on at home

  • I don't have a supportive significant other

  • We're moving

  • My income is limited

The list goes on and on and on. I am here to take those excuses away from you. I only want to hear reasons for not getting started in your own business. If you're reading this article it's because you WANT it but you aren't quite sure how to get around the obstacles in your life.

First let me tell you that there will always be obstacles the bigger question is this, "How badly do you want it?" How important are your goals and the goals of your family. Do you even have goals or are you just waking up each morning and allowing life to determine your path? Do you believe that you can change your path at any time? What strategies have you come up with for making those forever changes you want to make but haven't made yet?

It's time to make some changes and the very first place to start is to make a list of all of your excuses. Whenever someone talks to you about home businesses that are available out there -- and there are many available to you -- what excuses do you come up with? Write them down. That's right. Get a piece of paper and write them down right now. I'll wait.......(whistling, hummming, laughing with my kids, getting a drink, a snack.....)

Okay, now you have your list. Please know that you may add to this list at anytime. You will also be removing items from the list. I want you to go through your list and determine which ones are actual reasons. I think you'll be surprised by the few that are actual reasons. A reason is something that is real such as, "I'm in the hospital with cancer and can't focus on a business right now" -- THAT'S A REASON! "I don't want to use my credit card" -- that's an excuse. So don't use your credit card. Save up the money you will need to get started. The person who introduced you to whatever business you are looking at should be willing and able to give you specific dollar amounts. If he or she isn't willing to share those numbers with you then it's not the business for you.

Do I have excuses? Honestly, there are days when I'd like to just quit but I know that nothing is impossible. Let's go over the excuses I listed earlier and allow me to share a few things with you.

  • I have a lot of kids -- I HAVE 8 ranging in age from 19 years to 20 months! How many do you have?

  • I homeschool -- SO DO I!

  • I'm working on my degree -- ME TOO! Working on my Doctorate in Natural Health. How 'bout you?

  • I volunteer too many hours in the community -- SAME HERE! I am available to mothers within my community 24/7.

  • I have too many things going on at home -- REALLY? ME TOO! Life is always busy.

  • I don't have a supportive significant other -- DO IT ANYWAY -- he/she will come around

  • We're moving -- DID THIS TOO -- we still have boxes in every room and we moved a month ago.

  • My income is limited -- JOIN THE CLUB! I am using the money I make from teaching one night a week.

That's right -- those are all me as well. I've also experienced single parenthood and full-time working mom. Those wouldn't have stopped me either had someone introduced me to something worthwhile back then. I guess what I'd like for you to know is this....

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! Absolutely nothing is impossible. The statement, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it", is totally correct. The only thing, or rather person, stopping you is YOU.

What have I done to move through these obstacles? It took some time. I'll be honest there is a lot on my plate and I do wonder if I'll be able to fit it all in, today.

Did you catch that? Today. That word is so powerful and can bring you tremendous freedom. Just do what you can do TODAY. Don't worry about tomorrow. Oh, by all means set some business goals for 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, 5 years, and beyond but don't allow yourself to become overwhelmed by them. Just remember the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. In business you simply take it one day at a time.

Next, you must focus only on what you have control over. You don't have control over other people. You don't have control over the attitudes or perceptions of others and you don't have control over the universe. You must become focused and stay focused on the end result. Let me give you an example. The other day I walked outside where my husband was with our youngest, Philip. When Philip saw me he started to run toward me. He was heading straight for me until he looked down at the ground. Once he took his eyes off his goal (mom) he headed in a completely different direction that caused him to be literally feet away from me. Stay focused and when you discover that you've lost your focus -- get it back and start again.

That's right! In your own home business there are "do-overs". Everyday can be a do-over. Make a fool of yourself on the phone last night? DO-OVER! Become tongue tied when talking to a family member about what you're doing? DO-OVER! Make a financial mistake? DO-OVER! In other words, learn the lesson and move on -- do-over doesn't mean to make the mistake again. It simply means that you've learned the lesson and can move forward with your business.

Finally don't allow anyone or anything to take your dreams away from you. In times of difficulty turn to your business partners and associates. Surround yourself with the people who will support you in your dreams. They will be able to help you find the way through, over or around whatever obstacle is currently in your way. At this moment I'm reminded of a song in one of the shows my kids like to watch - the Wonder Pets. The Wonder Pets sing a song with words like, "what's gonna work? teamwork!" That's precisely how businesses are built -- with teamwork. You should be associated with people who can and will be part of your team. Allow them to help you.

Now, go finish your list. Go through each item line-by-line and discover which ones are true reasons and which ones are only excuses. Then come up with your plan for removing the excuses and get busy on your business. It is no longer okay for you to sit there day after day worried about the bills when you could be working on a business right now that can get you out of debt. Truly the only way for you to start living the life you want to live is for you to be the boss in your own business. Only you know what it is you want out of life and only you can get it for yourself. No one is going to come knocking on your door and hand you everything you desire.
