The quest to find the top exercises to get a flatter stomach has been long and painful. Throughout the years men and women from all walks of life have tried routine after routine in search of THE exercise that will make a difference in their lives.
Recent studies show that there's no single exercise that will get you a flatter stomach. Rather is a work of many. The American Council of Exercise has compiled a list with the exercises that triggers the most activity when performed. What are they?
The Bicycle Maneuver
Captain's Chair
Exercise Ball Crunch
Vertical Leg Crunch
Torso Track
Long Arm Crunch
Reverse Crunch
Full Vertical Crunch
Ab Rocker
The Plank
These are 10 proven stomach exercises to get a flatter stomach. And the best thing is that most of them are easy to do, take for example the Bicycle Maneuver:
1.Lie on the floor; make sure your lower back is pressed on the ground.
2.Take your hands behind your ears. Then bring up your knees at a 45 degree angle.
3.Start doing a bicycle pedaling motion. Touch your elbow with the opposite knee (right elbow with left knee and so on, alternating)
4.Breathe relaxed and evenly throughout the whole exercise.
Keep in mind that the exercises listed here are not complete abs workout. This means that you shouldn't expect to work your whole abs section just by doing the bicycle maneuver. Rather than that, make a program with exercises that target the different areas and stomach muscles. And begin working the lower abdominals to finish your program with the rectus abdominus.
You can find information about these exercise online and in specialized books, however I recommend oyu to always consult a professional trainer before engaging in new exercises. Also don't forget tom complement exercising with good diet and cardio training. Good luck!
