When you see a cutie from across the club and give 'em 'the eyes' (you know which ones I mean) your significant other is probably not going to be happy.
I should know; I've seen more bar fights start that way.
Jealousy is a terrible characteristic in any relationship, but sometimes it is not always your partner's fault.
If you're being a total flirt wherever you go, it might be up to you to fix the relationship. Lose your flirtatious ways and show your honey the loving he or she needs.
- How to Know you've Crossed the Line
I'm not going to lie, when my boyfriend is a little jealous of the attention I'm getting from other guys, it makes me feel appreciated.
A bit of the green monster keeps any relationship healthy and happy.
However, most people don't know where to draw the line between innocent flirting and going to far.
Respect your significant other; if he or she shows the following signs, you may be flirting too much:
- Not wanting to go out in public anymore - Fixing your outfit to make it less revealing - Ignoring you when you flirt with other guys or girls - Touching you more than normal when you're in public - Calling you often if you're out without him or her
- Building Trust
If you suspect your sweetie might be hurt by your flirting, stop immediately. Build trust instead!
Without a sense of honesty in a relationship, you are destined to be unhappy and break up in the end.
Remember that you are part of a couple, so you should modify your behavior in public slightly so that you are not trying to attract other men or women.
How can you put your significant other's fears to rest? Simply put, show him or her that you care.
If your partner trusts you 100%, a twinge of jealousy will how you grow together instead of pushing you apart.
However, if the trust is not there, jealousy will make your girlfriend or boyfriend suspicious that you are cheating.
When you go out in public, wear clothing that makes you look and feel good, but that is not as seductive as you'd wear if you're single.
Remember, your goal no longer is to collect phone numbers! If you are unsure that your clothing is appropriate, ask your significant other for advice.
Boys, your girlfriend can probably choose an outfit for you, and girls, even if your man isn't into fashion, he or she can help you choose between two different skirts.
If you're going out alone, call your honey before he or she calls you. This is especially important if your plans changes and you're going to a different location or coming home at a different time.
It also helps a jealous partner if you wear a watch, necklace, ring, shirt, or other item of clothing that they bought for you. Tell them it's a reminder of them while you're apart.
When you go out as a couple, flirting with other guys or girls is ok to some extent. Before you cross the line, however, make sure that it is well known that you are taken.
Pull your girl out on the floor to dance or kiss your guy for all to see. Make it known that you're claimed. This can save your relationship from disaster. Your boyfriend or girlfriend will realize that you are happy with the relationship, and that you're not shopping for a new boy or girl.
- Beyond Saving?
If jealousy is a major stumbling block in your relationship, you'll need to do more than ask your partner for clothing advice to save the relationship.
Take a close look at your actions. Are you causing the problem or is it due to your partner's envious personality? Be honest with yourself, and get the help you both need to make the relationship work.
First and foremost, have a truthful conversation with one another about the jealousy issues in your relationship.
If your significant other denies being jealous even if his or her actions say otherwise, there could be underlying problems with control.
To save your relationship, you may want to look into couples therapy or otherwise asking for help with your relationship.
With a little hard work, you can keep innocent flirting from turning into something much more serious. Keep your significant other as the most important person in your life and you can stop jealousy from taking over your relationship.
