Looking for an alternative to that same old theme park or amusement park vacation? Consider an all-inclusive family resort in the lush Caribbean or Mexican Riviera. For a single price, the entire family’s hotel, meals, beverages, taxes, tips, entertainment and activities are included. While Mom and Dad relax on the beach, the kids can enjoy a variety of age-appropriate supervised activities.
Most all-inclusive family resorts have “kids clubs” where kids can make friends and find playmates. Childcare options include a “vacation nanny” and day-care or babysitting. At some resorts, kids stay free; at others a deep discount for kids is offered. So you don’t overdose on the family atmosphere, there are usually adults-only restaurants and adults-only swimming pools. Many resorts have water parks and video game rooms. Teenagers can dance away in on-site teen discos. Younger kids can indulge their creativity with arts and crafts. There are basketball courts, air hockey and pool tables, and the kid’s pool usually sports a water slide and soda bar. The kids can take tennis or snorkeling lessons and attend beach parties.
An all-inclusive family resort may also offer activities like horseback riding, nature hikes, beach “Olympics” and excursions. Playgrounds and play areas are standard for the outdoors. Air-conditioned indoor games, videos and cartoons are available for that rare rainy day. With enough to do to keep the youngsters going from dawn to dusk, Mom and Dad are sure to find the time to just kick back and relax. With everything included, there are no surprise costs and the family has money left over for purchasing those all-important souvenirs and keepsakes. With mild tropical breezes, bright sunlight and blue-azure waters, a vacation at a family resort can be an unforgettable family experience.
