Communication is very important in every relationship and more so in romantic relationship. Many people expect their partners to be mind readers and when they fail to automatically know what they want, they sulk. The resentment is something which can be avoided if people get use relationship persuasive power. People have expectations and when they are not met, a relationship stands a risk of hitting a dead end. Partners do not know how to ask for what they want or they assume that the other party should know. That is a major misconception. In a relationship you should learn to ask for what you want in a mature and non-threatening manner. In most counseling sessions when each partner is asked to state their wants, they usually realize that the wants are common.

In my dating guide i want to show you how to ask for what you want from your partner without sounding demanding. A want that is granted leads to satisfaction of you two. A demand is emphasizing that your partner gives you what you want without taking into consideration his/her own wants and feelings. When a person who was demanding something is denied he/she resents the other person. When you want something and you ask for it, when you are not given you always have a plan B to take care of the want. Women have less relationship persuasive power because they simply do not know how to ask for what they want from the men in their lives. They end up annoying the men. My advice to women is that, the best way to do it is by saying it in a direct, rational, and non-emotional manner.

To get what you want from a partner, do not exaggerate your want. Do not say that "i want you around me all the time" it sounds confusing. It is quite hard to come up with a satisfactory solution. You might be desperate for something and you feel like your life depends on it but withhold the temptation to over state your need. This makes the other partner feel manipulated and in an attempt to liberate himself he might fail to cooperate with you. We all feel the need to justify our want. Overwhelming reasons why you should get something might provoke an argument from your partner and this gives you less relationship persuasive power. Do you think that asking what you want will make you look dependent? We all want to be independent but no man is an island. If you do not say it he won't know you want it.

Getting what you want from your partner is easy but only if you follow the right steps. Before you approach someone with a request always think about it and create a good atmosphere. Ask politely for what you want without employing disclaimers. After asking, expect a "no" because if you get annoyed on being denied, you were actually demanding. Get an alternative way of getting what you want if your request is turned down. whether the answer is a 'yes' or 'no' create open communication lines with your partner. This boosts your relationship persuasive power to great levels.
