There are many memory techniques available out there, and they’re very usable and practically simple too. They can be used to improve not only your mind but also your life. Learn how to sharpen those brains to impress your boss for that promotion or simply impress your friends. The human brain is virtually complex, and with some memory techniques and understanding that information is imbued in your mind, recalling it will be effortless. Mnemonics. Mnemonics are a kind of memory tool to train your complete mind to store and recover information and knowledge through the use of association. As language is an essential part of remembering facts and data, mnemonics in the mode of rhymes or familiar words could serve as resources to your brain.

You can bridge your main information or concept that you need to recall in a story, or you could use acronyms. The most common example of this is the acronym R-O-Y-G-B-I-V for the colors of the rainbow. They stand for: R-red, O-Orange, Y-Yellow, G-Green, B-Blue, I-Indigo, V-Violet. Repetition. This is an easy technique used often to recall something by concentrating your entire undivided attention on it. By using repetition, it establishes firmly the information in your long-term memory. In doing this, you will be able to avoid forgetting things because they failed to remember them in the first place—a very common mistake most people make.

Mind Mapping. Another equally easy but strong technique to sharpen your mind is via mind mapping. This kind of memory technique is based on how well we think and recall data. It uses the entire brain by bridging processes and ideas. By compelling you to jot down your thoughts on paper, it compels you to focus your entire attention to the given information. Using visuals through pictures and colors also strengthens the mind. Connection Technique. This connection technique makes meaning or a bridge to a fact or event that you know, in this manner, letting you recall it smoothly and easily.

One favorable factor of this type of memory technique is that it makes use of some basic information that you already know to a certain extent makes it improbable for you to forget the information once the meaning has already been connected. An example of this is, it is much easy to remember an address of 2512 Walk Memory Street, by linking or connecting it to Christmas Day, which falls on the 25th of December. Some simple day to day hobbies or activities like reading can also be a great way in enhancing your memory by exercising the mind. By using any of the techniques above, and learning from it, pretty soon you will find yourself be able to rely and depend on your mind more than you can ever imagine.
