Any relationship is prone to a break up. Most relationships require a lot of work and sacrifice to maintain in order for them to be long-lasting. Regardless of how hard you try sometimes relationships will end whether you want them to or not. This break-up process is often nerve wracking and stressful. When a relationship ends you may feel angry and will ask yourself "how to get back at my ex?" Before you act rashly you should consider if this is the best approach to take. If you are considering trying to win your ex back and mend the broken relationship you should avoid getting angry and work on showing your ex how important your are in their life. Here's 5 tips you can use:

  1. Be strong and confident. Needy people are a drain. Avoid being clingy, don't beg, don't act desperate. All these behaviors give your ex all the power. They will be in control. You should remain strong and show your ex that you can truly live without them. When you act strong and move on your ex will realize that they haven't moved on.

  2. Avoid communicating with your ex. Does it make sense to stop talking to your ex if you are trying to win them back? Of course it does. Whether you are trying to get back at your ex or trying to get them back this is one of the most important things you can do. You've heard the expression "absence makes the heart grow fonder." That's exactly what will happen here. Take a break from your ex and let them see what it's like without you. They will come to the realization of how important your relationship was.

  3. Modify your behaviors. If you are dominating and forceful become more submissive and gentle. If you are submissive and gentle become more dominating and confident. Your ex will be surprised when they see this new you. They may become more attracted to you and try to open up the lines of communication that may have been lacking before.

  4. Don't be alone. Get out and do things with your friends. You will need support during this time. You don't necessarily have to date but you want to get out and have fun. This will take your mind off of your ex and you will show him or her what they are missing.

  5. Be yourself. You and your ex came together for a reason. Be yourself and let your ex remember why they were attracted to you in the first place. It's easy to lose who we are when we are involved in a deep and long-lasting relationship. Find yourself again and your ex will find you too.
