Ending a relationship is hard to do

Pick a good time for the break up, Try to make sure its face to face, not by phone or text. However if you are a big distance apart its better to do it sooner rather wait for a time when your both together.

Get into a mood of compassion when ending a relationship, especially if you want to stay friends after wards. The conclusion of the romantic ties should be remembered with love and compassion, or the memories will be tainted.

Don't make your partner feel defensive. Talk about all the great memories and things that you have come to love. Make sure your around during the break-up as your partner may need a little emotional support. you should respond to there need still at this time.

Don't take what is said to personally when ending a relationship. your partner may say things in haste during this time. take such comments with a pinch of salt.

Your partner may not be able to gain closure in one meet. Or may need space either way their needs again must be met in this transition stage.

Don't be pulled into feeling guilty. Your ending a relationship because its best for you both. Stay positive and you'll get through. Remember your going to begin a new phase and it doesn't include you ex.
