Dream interpretation and meaning is not cast in stone. . The events, images or dream meaning symbols in a dream are like glimpses inside a window of what is going on in a room we cannot enter.
Think of the conscious mind as something like a stand alone PC. It allows us to function effectively, but in a particular sort of isolation. The conscious mind stops us bumping into light poles but it doesn’t care about our spiritual mission. Its function is basically to keep us plugged into reality so we see the light pole and walk around it, it sends us signals about being hungry or thirsty and it stores, or at least retrieves, the information we need to function in the world around us. But just functioning in the world around is not the reason we are here. The purpose of life is not that simple.
The subconscious mind is something like the internet; it connects us to a vastly wider network, universal mind. The seed of life itself, including our true purpose, is carried in the soul and viewed through the subconscious mind. The sub conscious mind doesn’t care if we bump into a light pole; there was probably a lesson to be learned anyway. But the subconscious mind cares about maintaining our balance and direction at the deeper level.
However, because subconscious mind is on a sort of universal network of consciousness, like the internet, it gets a lot of spam and can pick up invading viruses, worms and thought forms. In ways we do not yet understand these can manifest as psychoses, depression, and various other mental disorders. Here is a tip: If there are weird things going on in your head, get a second opinion. Talk to a professional.
A dream is a glimpse into, or a message from the sub-conscious. Dreams can range in function and intensity from light fanciful and fun-filled outings, where we get a glimpse of the subconscious having fun, through to alarming and terrifying dreams bordering on nightmares. Very often we will see clear symbols, a horse, a house with rooms, and so on.
Because we are glimpsing into or getting messages from the subconscious, usually, neither the image nor the message is very clear in its meaning. The subconscious works differently to the conscious and tends to work more with the energy of meaning than the literal explanations we like at the conscious level.
Here is another tip: The books that tell you what a horse means or what a cat means that should only be used as a guide. A horse may symbolise a journey, strength, or that we are on the way to the knackery unless we fix up our diet. Dream interpretation and meaning can be studied but it is far more complex than remembering what horse means. Books cannot convey the unique energy that accompanies an individual dream experience.
Talking among friends is probably fun but not a good idea to base your life upon. A good dream interpretation and meaning practitioner should be able to help. Look at their credentials first and, if you get any inklings of mistrust- run. They look more for the energy and symbology behind the dream than the graphics or what last months magazine column said. They will probably ask if anything is going on in your life to get clues as to the life balance and life purpose context of the dream.
Here is a final tip: Work with a dream interpretation and meaning practitioner, not just to get an interpretation, but to develop and strengthen your grasp of the dream meaning symbols your subconscious is communication to you.
