Bottle Candle holders
Invest a few candles. If the bottom of the wine candles are a too wide get a safeknife and cut off the sides so the candle fits snuggly into the bottle. Let the candle drip down the outside of the bottle and change to different colored candles every so often this can create some great effects. The best empty bottles are those with the fat bases. But the long narrow style bottles are just as good.
Wholesale empty wine bottles
The more wine tasting parties you have and go through a lot of your favorite white or Red Wine then your collection of bottles could grow quite rapidly. Take them all up place them in the wine container or box and take them off to your local bottle dealer. Trader will be more than happy to buy those empty wine bottles from you. You could get money for the next red wine.
Decoration
Invest or borrow a tool to cut glass and cut out the bottoms of the bottle. Good idea is to select one of those pretty colored bottles create a wire holder for a tea candle that fits inside the bottle (hooks over the lip of the bottle at the top), and then put them up near a window. In the beginning it's not clear that there the bottle has no bottom, and friends will be amazed how you got the candle inside. Don not forget to get everyone to visit for a glass of white wine and to admirelook at your handy work.
Break and create Some Art Work
This is one of my favorite. Take your bottle put it in something like a sheet and then smash the bottle against a wall. Take care and put down the sheet and pick out the bigger pieces of smashed glass. With some extra strong glue simply place them on a bit of colored wood and there you have it instant Art work.
Take the label of and collect them.
Wet the bottles in somewarm water only enough to make the labels slightly wet. Then very slowly peel back the stickers. Once off put them inside some heavy books with something to look after the guide books from getting wet. Once you get the wine labels you can use them for, a collection, artwork, or how about a paper mache wine bottle.
Bottle up your own homemade cooking oils
Use the empty wine bottles to make your own flavored homemade salad dressings.
Buy a few wholesome herbs - rosemary, thyme, dill, taragon, etc. and put them inside the bottles. Don't mix the herbs place a different herb in different bottles. Add a few peeled fresh garlic cloves and nuts. Next put olive oil or vinegar to fill the bottle. Dried chiles and peppercorns also make a great spicey chile oil. Put the cork is also a good idea to collect all those nice flavours in the bottle.
Empty wine bottle oil Lamp
Heres a super idea for wine bottles is to make them into an oil light. Most DIY shops have a wine bottle oil lamp collection that has everything excluding the bottle. They look fantastic, and are great, especially for memento bottles.
