I have lived in Caleta de Fuste for more than three years at this time, and will remain to do so for the forseeable future, in as much as, I have no strategy to leave.

Caleta de Fuste is a small town, and a few would say a little too small, but that really depends on what You are doing, and who with, and its Main role in the entire scheme of things is as a sightseeing destination.

The town has been tested to the limit of late, and I Presume that is valid of anywhere right now, but a light can be seen, its a distant one, but its a light just the same.

I run a website on the town (well, four actually), and these do Fairly well, and it pays the rent. I additionally do SEO and marketing, and am pretty damn accomplished at it, as I make a living, and even employ a team of people all over the globe too.

We try and raise the Profile of the site, and in turn increase the profile of the town, as no one seems too enthusiastic, particularly those that are being paid to do it.

We have various Local agencies here, and some do well and some don't. The problems really start when we team up with other islands that make up the Canaries, as all tourists want is Tenerife, and then as a lowly back up, Lanzarote. These places are 10 years in front of Fuerteventura in development, and unfortunately this leap is also evident in commercialism. Bars, clubs, and more bars flourish in both places, and to a smaller degree in Gran Canaria.

But Fuerteventura's powers that be, do not crave the island to grow to be like that, and I have to concur. Although it might be a terrific idea to be like these places for a year or two, then chuck all the idiots out and keep their Money, but that may well be seen as mean.

Who cares, turn up and bring your England shirts and your wallets!

Caleta de Fuste is a impressive place, and is ideal for those that think clubbing is a bit of a waste of time.
