When applying for a job, you just have few minutes to impress the other person. So to impress him you’re appearance will play a major role. Your appearance will speak for you when you go in for a job interview. You should be very careful with what you wear to impress your interviewer.
Based on the industry, you should wear a formal or informal business wear for your interview. In any type of office job, business dress code is the preferred way to show up for a job interview. Standard business wear for men means a suit, white shirt and tie and shoes with socks. If you’re applying for a top level position, they you can wear suspenders, three-piece suits.
While buying your attire, do check the color of your suit, choice of tie and color of your shirt. Always wear black, gray or navy blue colored suit. It would always look nice on men. Dress shirt should be white in color and ties need to be fairly muted. When you’re wearing a tie choose colors like red, blue or gray as it goes well with the suit. While attending a job interview avoid capricious ties.
If a woman goes in for an office job interview, the best way she can get dressed is by wearing a skirt or pant suits. If she prefers skirt, it must be no shorter than knee length and must wear stockings. Shoe should be high heels and flats. If she prefers pants suit, then knee-highs or trouser socks with shoes would be considered best. Jewelry should be understated and coordinate well with what you are wearing.
Men should wear slacks and neutral colored sports jacket (black, gray and navy blue), with the traditional white or muted color shirt while attending a job interview which has a casual work environment. Always wear a tie with it. Women can wear pants and a twin set sweater opinion, or a skirt and a simple blouse instead, for a job interview with this type of company. In some work places, casual clothing will do. If a person dresses up well for an interview it denotes you’re professional.
Sometimes people have to dress up based on the type of employment they choose. If you’re attending a job interview in retail outlet which sells rock posters you can wear a miniskirt and keep your nose ring in is perfectly acceptable. If possible, find out what employees of that company are wearing before choosing your attire for the interview. If you dress like these employees, you will automatically fit in better and seem like you already hold the job for which you are applying.
Do give preference to your hair and makeup for job interviews. Both men and women should cut their hair properly and styled in a relatively conservative fashion. Avoid Mohawks, green or purple hair, or otherwise. Women should apply light make up with colored lip gloss, minimal eye makeup and blush.
