Life with Robbie Williams must seem like a roller coaster. I can't imagine what being in Britain's biggest boy band would have been like. He was probably led around by the nose by agents, and handlers. Though successful he stopped doing it. He tried out life with Oasis for a while and then finally settled on going solo. This does seem to be his best idea.
Then in 2006 Robbie hit another bump in the road, or should we say major pothole. He released his album Rudebox and much to his dismay it was ripped apart by the critics and fans rejected it also. In spite of the less than glowing reviews however, the album still topped charts around the world and sold over five million copies. The problem with the album was thought to be the fact that he was no longer working with Guy Chambers who had written all of his prior hits. Robbie decided at this point to take a hiatus.
Robbie was no doubt refreshed by all that time away from the business. I am guessing that Reality Killed The Video Star is his reconnection to his love of music. You have to realize that when you work at something a lot and are pushed relentlessly to do more, you tend to forget the reason why you loved it in the first place. People do not devote themselves to the arts of any kind without having a drive and passion for it that has nothing to do with fame and money.
Trevor Horn was the producer on this album and that can only be a good thing considering what he has done in his past and who he has worked with. You get the feeling that there is some of the Robbie old style in this new baby along with some of the best from the last one he did. It is all new though. and should be a nice treat for fans. Who have been waiting.
There are a whole bunch of folks that are anticipating this new album. You have the fans of old that have been hanging on. His coworkers in the industry must be somewhat curious. Then there are all those music critics that dogged him out so bad last time, they must be salivating at the smell of fresh meat. And you have Robbie, who has gone so many different ways musically already in his life, he must be curious about how people will like this one.
The new Robbie Williams cd may be his coolest one yet. Fans are overjoyed to get their hands on the new release, ROBBIE WILLIAMS Reality Killed The Video Star.
