Mr. McKinley's self promotion sounds great as does their website but does not reflect my horrific experience at his firm. The website which led me to this firm was the total opposite of my experience. My attorney not only did not protect me but did not even prepare for the hearing at which I lost everything that was important to me. This attorney told me that the personal property I will lose (my vicious spouse is allowed to "dispose" of it) "doesn’t matter." My McKinley Irvin attorney compromised my safety by refusing to help me obtain a protective order; the judge ordered my husband’s dangerous presence when I removed what property I could because there was no mention of domestic violence in the file. A mental health professional told me that my husband was very dangerous (no news to me) and that I needed a protective order. My MI attorney repeatedly refused to help me get one. A protective order would have changed the judge’s ruling. The judge also allowed my husband unfettered access to my home for an entire weekend for the same reason. I was not allowed to protect my home but by court order was kept out of it while my husband could do as he pleased there. He needed to pick up a very few items from the garage but was given total access to the house because my McKinley Irvin attorney did not object and particularly because my MI attorney refused to help me obtain the professionally recommended and repeatedly requested protective order. My MI attorney did not object to my husband starting (inadequate) support a month late, or mention the bills my soon to be ex-husband had unlawfully and unfairly stuck me with. He used our child as a weapon against me and my HI attorney let him. My MI attorney was so unprepared that even the financial information used in the hearing by MY attorney was wrong and to the unfair of advantage of my lying husband. My HI attorney worked against my best interest and for the unfair advantage of my husband. That is how unprepared the attorney was. My attorney did not care how much I lost at the hearing or how devastating the orders of the court were (because my HI attorney was unprepared to argue on my behalf). I was predictable upset and my HI attorney demanded that I "calm down", laughed at my distress, and told me it "didn’t matter" because it wasn’t the final order. The temporary order prevented me from affording basics like health care and dental care, both of which my daughter and I desperately need, it made us unsafe, and gave my ex the ability to dispose of both my child’s and my property. But according to MI, it "didn’t matter." MI used all my money faster than I thought possible, got me a terrible ruling and support that prevents me from obtaining other (any) legal counsel (even though our assets are in the millions) while my attorney husband and his friend lie to the court with impunity. I have no hope for the future because I hired McKinley Irvin. If this is the kind of representation you want, go directly to McKinley Irvin.
