Welcome to the World of Hypnosis at http://www.hypnoacoustics.com

Let me begin this article by saying that the topic of hypnosis seems to be shrouded in mystery. When I tell people what I do for a living they are afraid to look into my eyes for fear that I may make them bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken. Breaking these misconceptions and educating the public about hypnotherapy has become part of my job description. And I am very excited about this prospect. The truth is that we all go in and out of hypnosis many times a day. For example, have you ever been so involved in a thought that you didn't remember driving or walking from one place to another?

Can a hypnotist make you do something that is embarrassing, shocking or irreversible? No, you will not do anything you do not think is acceptable. I not an entertainer preparing for the Vegas circuit... I'm a hypnotherapist who helps facilitate change in my clients.

"How did I get into this field?" you may ask. Well, like many people I felt stuck in certain habits, patterns and attitudes. I tried to change with traditional willpower methods yet I felt like I was chasing my tail. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology but was interested in a more holistic approach to healing. I went to study Ayurvedic medicine at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient Indian holistic healing system that treats people based on their individual constitution. As I was giving lifestyle recommendations to clients, I found that, even though people desired to change, they would soon fall back on their old habits. I realized change needs to happen on a deeper level, at the subconscious part of the mind. Consequently, I became a hypnotherapist.

Hypnotherapy is extremely effective because your subconscious mind stores all of your earliest positive and negative emotional imprints. These imprints create the beliefs you have about yourself. These beliefs create the patterns at work in your life today. We all have had the experience of seeing a "pattern" in our lives that we feel unable to change. It could be struggles with addictive behavior low self confidence or health problems. By dealing with the subconscious directly these patterns are broken paving the way for permanent change.
