Summary- With all of the cutbacks and job loss in the country today, it's hard to maintain a positive attitude. However, as long as you take the time to look into the good side of things and find where good things are happening, you might be able to enjoy optimism. It will be hard, but these tips should help.

Every day, and sometimes every hour, new news stories pop up about who's cutting jobs, where cuts are being made and what it means for the economy. You can't log on to any news or information website or turn on the TV news without hearing or seeing a story about some company, somewhere in the country, cutting jobs. Add that to all the updates about jobless rates and unemployment rising in various cities and states around the U.S. and it can become a very disheartening situation for anyone to live in.

You can't very well ignore the news because it's always important to keep up on what is going on in the world. However, what you can do is to take a minute to accept that these stories will be there and try to look for the good anywhere that you can. News stations and companies aren't that great at reporting the small victories that happen every day, because the big letdowns like corporate downsizing and companies going under is often more important. However, you can find your own small victories as long as you know where to look. Focus on stories that inspire you and talk about people finding jobs or creating new ones. Look at any place that is being created and adding jobs to the economy, because they count big time right now.

Do whatever it takes to find the good in all the bad that's out there, and make sure that you have put yourself in a position to not let the bad get you down. No one likes to see people losing their jobs or lose their own, but it's happening, and all that you can do is try to make the best of it in any way that you can. Whether you choose to find more enlightening news to read, or just try to forget about what's going on around you, you need to make sure that you don't let the job cuts and economic recession get you stressed, depressed, or questioning your security.

No one really has job security right now, but you still shouldn't wander around with the stress on your shoulders of worrying about whether you're going to have a job or not tomorrow, next week, or next month. Just focus on the now, and try to be prepared so that if the worst does happen to you, you're ready for it. Many professionals predict that things won't get back to normal for another 3-5 years or longer, so you might as well get used to it if you can't find ways to tune it out.
