A trip to the beaches is standard for a summer vacation past time. There are more then a few shores that are worthy to visit in America and some of the best are on the East Coast. From Maine to Florida, some of the most beautiful beaches lie in between. Nestled on the coast of North Carolina, there are many different beaches to see, including several that are hidden away on rarely ventured islands. Knowing which ones are the best can give you an edge on the crowds of beach goers hitting North Carolina's coastal shoreline.

The Outer Banks is considered the best place for a vacation on a North Carolina beach. The Outer Banks has incredible imagery and amazing views, as well as historical value. While here, you can visit Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where the Wright Brothers flew the first airplane in history. On the beaches, you will see the tallest dunes on the East Coast. There are also many shopping opportunities, as well as enjoying the dining experiences of the local restaurants. However, a vacation is not all about shopping and eating. You will be able to see Old Baldy, the oldest lighthouse in the state of North Carolina, as well as swim in the sweet, blue waters and witness the majestic beauty of the island.
