When something unexplainable happens, and it catches the attention of many, there will always be a lot of questions about it. Both logic and science are rather "not applicable" to situations like paranormal things, or of the psychic realm. But how come, when people talk about prophets and their prophecies, people do not seem to question so much, considering that science also cannot explain these things?

To think of it, a psychic and prophet, are somewhat similar, but then, how people accept the concept differs. You may ask, what is the difference then between a psychic and a prophet?

It is best that for everyone's concern, that we must first define what is a psychic, and what is a prophet, in order to avoid confusion, and for people to understand the gifts bestowed upon them. The definition of both will give us a clearer picture of what really is a psychic prophet.

By definition, a psychic is a person who has an ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through their extrasensory perception, or what is known as ESP. A psychic is a person with special powers, like gifts of divination, fortune telling, visions, predictions, and clairvoyant abilities, among many others.

On the other hand, a prophet is a person more commonly associated with religion. Religion is a major part of our history as a whole, and prophets have played a major role in both history and religion. By definition, a prophet it is known to be a person who has been contacted by, or has encountered, the supernatural or the divine, and they serve as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this new found knowledge from the supernatural entity to other humans. These messages they receive, no matter in what form it is, is more commonly referred to as a prophecy.

Simply put, a psychic is to a psychic reading, and a prophet is to a prophecy. They're both alike in these terms. However, people fail to see these similarities because of differences in faith. In reality, a psychic and a prophet, are also both gifted with mediumship, an ability of being able to relay messages from the world beyond us, to the people here on Earth. Special psychics called psychic mediums are able to communicate with spiritual entities, as like prophets can communicate with divine beings.

Another similarity between a prophet with a psychic, is their ability to know the past, present, and future situations of things. They may know the origin of a thing or what will happen to it but the process would be a little different. Psychics know these things through reading while prophets know them by revelation through its prophecies.

However, the interesting part is how people view the two concepts very differently, when they're actually very similar. Religion is always given more weight, because of the belief that everything in a prophecy came from divine beings, and that psychic readings just come out of nowhere. But then, psychic gifts are also blessings from above. What people fail to see, is that every person has an innate psychic side. That in fact, it is a psychic gift within all these prophets, that allows them to see, hear, feel, and communicate with what others cannot, through their strong ESP.
