I would like to put money on this one: if this is the first time you are reading this article then I bet you are sitting inside looking at it. Not because this is published on the Internet and the tools to view the Internet are generally ones that are suited to the indoors, but because the inside is a comfortable, warm and enjoyable environment. Of course if I am wrong then please tell me. You're probably sat there wondering "who surfs the Internet outside?", well, I'm sure the answer is more surprising than you think.

There is a new wave of people working from home who are choosing to working in their own private office, their own little place for focussed creativity and unsurpassed work motivation. Now this office isn't part of their existing house, oh no, it's a fully fledged dedicated garden office. Can you imagine yourself setting out to 'go to work' but only walking 15 steps to get there? Your office in the heart of your beautiful garden scenery. You could practically feel the positive vibes flowing in under your office door.

When you're working from home your motivation and production levels can take a battering and drop, making work slow and almost a chore to do. That is not the way it should be. Your work should be something that is fun to carry out, a pleasure to wake up for. Take it from someone who has worked from home before and has faced this very problem. There are a number of ways to combat this dip in your working life;

  1. Get a job working for a company, one that has a boss who shouts demands at you to keep you awake?

  2. Rent an office desk in a busy office environment at £££'s per month.

  3. Buy your own garden office.

I said there are a number of ways to combat this, but there is only one real right answer. And just think, when you're the owner of your own office you can customise and furnish it as much or as little as you like, with no one to tell you what you can't do. Fit a carpet, hang up that garish painting that you love but everyone else in the house really doesn't like, install an Internet connection and electric power if you so wish. You will feel a new lease of working life, rejuvenated in fact. It could be the boost your working life needs.

Of course you could purchase a garden shed and convert it to an office, but it might always look like a garden shed that is pretending to be an office. A shed in fancy dress. A garden office on the other hand is a place for focussed work away from all the usual distractions and disruptions of a lived in home, with the added benefits of office life in mind.

Windows and doors, solid wooden structures designed to compliment your garden and not prove to be an eye-sore. No need to worry about wood rot either as all the best garden offices come with some form of guarantee, usually from 10 - 15 years, which of course should put your mind at ease. If you're worried about where the wood came from and if it was from a sustainable source then don't be - all the best garden offices and office providers support the growth of responsible forest management by assigning FSC accreditation to their offices. Assembly services might also be available for you, if you're not DIY minded and want a hassle free office set-up.

If you are looking for a garden shed, a summer house, a leisure cabin or a chalet then please bear in mind that you will need ample space for either. If space is a factor then please take that into account when making your choices.

If you are looking to clear up your garden tools, DIY tools, bikes, sports equipment, garden hose or if you're just looking for some more general storage room then it could be a garden shed you're looking for. If you picture a garden shed but all you can see is the cold and rotted one that your father used to have in the back garden then you need to think again. Garden sheds these days have come a long way. They offer superior construction quality, treated wood or metal construction to make them longer lasting and designs to fit any purpose, size or shape. There is something to suit everyone, for everyone situation.
