Guitar instruction software can help the serious beginner, intermediate or advanced guitar student who seeks to better learn guitar chord progressions, key changes, scale patterns, long arpeggio fretboard runs, total music theory, jazz improvisation, rock or blues soloing and more . Fretboard roadmaps, instant fretboard mastery, learning ten scale forms, etc. sounds great. But how often have you really found a source that gives you the serious teaching and in-depth understanding that you need to really feel that you have moved forward with your knowledge of the guitar in a way where you can really apply it and use it as a professional would, whether or not your goal is to be professional or not.
Often you may hear of a student seeking to be a professional player, making a living or seriously pursuing the guitar as an adjunct to their current career. This is the type of guitar education that you can learn from a powerful guitar teaching software program that treats all students in the same manner. And you may wonder, well if I just want to learn to play the guitar for my own satisfaction is it worth the time and trouble to pursue and real guitar education and instead just going for fragmented and less comprehensive learning approaches.
Well, think of it this way, not every person who goes to a music school or art school for example, is going to only have a life long career in that field. And a music school is not only of use for a student who wants to be the ultimate professional. The truth is that any subject that you pursue of interest has many aspects to it that need to be learned if you really want to personally enjoy and become the best you can at that subject. Could you imagine a person who likes to draw or paint, saying "oh, I don't need to learn how to draw the human body because it is too advanced for me and I am not going to be a professional!" There are elements and a base of knowledge in regards to drawing and painting that one should know if they actually really enjoy the subject and want to become the best they can at it whether for personal or professional use.
By learning in a way where you start off by limiting yourself in what you think you are capable of learning or actually playing is the wrong method for you to approach your instrument. There are many subjects and concepts that need to be learned and a variety of musical application situations that must be experienced for it to be worthwhile at all for a guitar student to even bother playing the guitar for just personal fun. The beginner who tries this approach will most likely have a difficult time even getting to a point of gaining any real pleasure from playing. Intermediate fall into this trap often and that is why it is not easy to progress forward. Advanced players know this but they are having a hard time finding what they need to fill in that gap and allow them go finally have a real command of the instrument. So take a serious approach to your studies no matter what your level or career aspirations and you will find great enjoyment with the guitar.
