The anchoring techniques are the one of the most powerful neuro linguistic programming technique, which can change your emotional state instantly in any situation. According to the experiment done by Pavlov, by sound the bell while every time food was given to the dog, and the dog salivated when saw the food. After repeating few of time, then Pavlov parings the sound of the bell and the food, the bell alone immediately elicited salivation of the dog. This is the earliest discovering of anchoring technique.
In definition, Anchoring is refer to the association of certain element to the emotion in such a way when the element was stimulated, then the certain kind of emotion will be triggered and manifest in a specific state of mind, just like the Pavlov and his dog.
The trigger experience may be quite neutral or even out of conscious awareness, and the response may be either constructive or destructive. For example, listen to an old song may be making somebody feel sad because of recalling his/her spouse that has been passed away, because that is his/her puppy love song.
After understanding the nature of human being’s emotion can be triggered through nlp anchoring techniques, and then we can create a specific trigger point to stimulate the resourceful state in order to make us to achieve whatever we want. Anchors are subtle but very powerful, especially when they are attached to an excessive constructive emotion. The stronger the emotion, the stronger the anchor.
So how can you begin to live that way? Here are 3 simple steps:
-
Put yourself into a resourceful state (confidence, powerful, unstoppable, etc). Recall a past experiences when you were in that state before, the more specific the experience, the better the outcome in later. Construct the thoughts and pictures. Focus in visualizing like play a video inside your mind.
-
At the peak of your state, mean the moment of the most intense of the feeling, lock it to a specific anchoring point, for instance, hold your fist, or say "yes!" loudly. Repeat this anchor point for few more times, as long as you are still in that peak state.
-
Final step, back to a normal state, mean no having any intense feeling right now. Then, do breaking state actions, like walk around, ask yourself what dinner you are going to take tonight etc. Then test the outcome by trigger the anchoring point to see whether it will stimulate any intense emotion. If your feel that intense feeling when you trigger the anchor point, congratulation, you done it right; otherwise, repeat the whole step again until the feeling can be trigger through that specific anchoring point.
The important tips for choosing an anchoring point or trigger point:
1.) Uniqueness: It must be something you don’t do it in daily. Kinesthetic anchor are often used, can access a particular state simply by touching a part of the body.
2.) Intensity of the state: To create an effective and enduring association, the anchoring point must to be locked just before a person reaches its highest intensity.
3.) Simple and Easy to fire: You can fire the anchoring point without doing a huge movement or action, more importantly, it must be easy & simple movement like holding you fist.
In summary, the nlp anchoring techniques is a fastest pathway to create any emotion you want by instant.
