You've got your battle scars, you've come out of a divorce and you are still alive and kicking. Pat yourself on the back for that one. One thing that can end up being a shock to any guy who has been in a long term relationship and finds himself "back in the game" is, you've probably lost a little bit of your step when it comes to meeting and attracting women. That's okay, as long as you are willing to open your eyes to new possibilities, you might just find that your post divorce dating life turns out quite well.
Here's what you need to do if you find yourself back in the dating game after a divorce:
- You need to repair and rebuild your confidence with women.
No matter how confident you are in your everyday life, it is inevitable that you will end up losing a little confidence after a divorce when it comes to being around women that you don't already know. It's something that you can build back up, the important thing is that you get back out there. Even if you start out kind of slow, rebuilding your confidence with women is one of the most important things that you can do.
- Talk to as many women as you can until you are used to approaching women and starting conversations.
You've spent quite a bit of time getting to know one woman, and you knew what to say to her, but now you have to find out how to talk to women that you do not know. This can intimidate some guys, but if you kind of take small steps and just start conversations whenever and wherever you can, you will be able to get that much further along. Even something as trivial as talking and flirting with a waitress or a cashier can help give you the boost that you need.
- Do not try and get right back into a relationship right away.
It's one of the traps that a lot of divorced guys end up getting into and you really want to avoid this as much as possible. While it might feel "comfortable" to get right back into a relationship right away, take some time to really get a little experience under your belt again and that way you won't make the mistake of rushing into another relationship.
