If you are reading this article, you are probably looking to figure out how to fix your relationship. Relationship repair is not an easy task; basically because it is broken for reasons known, in some cases, and reasons not known. Its the latter that makes relationship repair the most difficult. Poor communication in a relationship is often the first culprit. Many couples don't communicate as well as they should and that can be damaging for both parties. Its not really either person's fault, per se, it is just that as we get older, we tend to get set in our ways and sometimes taking the time out to both communicate feelings and listen to other's feelings can be more of a hassle than it should be. Here are some true relationship repair guidelines that will help put that relationship fix in reach.

Relationship Repair Guidelines

Love is a verb. If you love your spouse (or significant other), love him or her for better or for worse. Nobody is perfect, you aren't and he or she isn't, so get past that and learn to appreciate your differences.

Communicate, communicate, communicate. The key to the relationship fix is that you both talk. Even if it results in a heated discussion, you are both at least expressing yourselves. If you have kids or others where you live, make sure your important conversations are private.

There may be something from the past that each of you have in your pocket that you know will get to the other. A sort of shortcoming, or something just short of blackmail. Try and avoid these. One key part of how to fix your relationship, is stay away from hateful things. You are not children anymore, so be mature and play fair.

A key relationship repair technique is to listen attentively without interruption. Pay attention to the emotions that lie behind the words and body language. Don't judge, or ridicule. What may be silly to you and unimportant is not necessarily the same to him or her. Be compassionate no matter what the issue is and try and learn from it so you will know how to act in the future.

I've talked to many people that try to repair relationships who will tell me that they will sometimes both go to bed angry at each other. That is certainly no fun; and more times than not both wake up forgetting what all the fuss was about. Call a truce before you sleep.

If you can do one action, big or small, every day that shows love to your partner, then that will go a long way. Understand what would make him or her appreciative and make the effort. It will go a long way in relationship repair.

These are just some of the guidelines that I have seen work in the past when people are looking to fix a relationship.

If you're reading this before your divorce, you are in good hands because I have the greatest book for you that will save you major headaches. The book I am speaking so highly about is called "Divorce Buddy System" I read this by J. Richard Kulerski and loved it immediately. In this book, that took absolutely next to no time to read by the way, reveals the exact words you need to know to avoid that messy divorce you are regretting! Sometimes you try and work things out and they just don't work out. Nobody gets married to get divorced. I told my husband I'm only getting married once and never in my life planned on this happening...But we are able to work together on this divorce and work it out so it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Good luck to you out there!
