Maintaining health is a job of its own description and in order to look and feel good you need to only make note of how many calories you consume a day as well as get some good old fashioned exercise and watch your fat intake. Simple when you know how! But bear in mind that looking good takes some effort on your part and this food nutrition guide is basically the secret to sound nutrition.
Most people drive cars and as you know if you don’t fill up with gas your car is going nowhere or if you don’t service your car regularly it will not perform or will breakdown which will end up costing you a fortune to repair. But if you take care of your car and service it regularly it will last for many years to come and not give you any problems.
Well guess what, your body and body functions are exactly the same as your car if you don’t give your body fuel it won’t work properly and if you don’t eat properly your body will become ill and cost you a lot of money.
Now when we take a look at calories, majority of people don’t have the faintest idea as to how many calories they are taking in per day and the best way to monitor your intake of calories is to write it down or take a look at a food nutrition guide. Once you have this guide all you need do is check to see what the label on the food states and with some math’s you can work out what the calories per portions.
On any food nutritional guide you will see that they have given an estimated average of what ones calorie intake should be per day. For instance, your daily calorie intake should be around 2095 which includes 50% carbohydrates, 34% fat, 15% protein and around 2% alcohol. The average man needs about 2500 calories a day and 2000 if he wants to lose weight. Women need about 2000 a day and 1600 if they wish to lose some weight.
An easy way to count calories is by purchasing a calorie counter which will automatically do all the calculations for you and will also show you how many calories you burn up at any one time could not be easier. If you don’t find a good food nutritional guide on the Internet, then consult a dietician.
